Today was the 14th & 15th Asia Kennel Union Championship Dog Show and the show was a grand one as there were many VIPs, eg, Mr Yeo Guat Kwang MP for Aljunied GRC and 3 celebrity judges.
Yesterday was a busy day for us to set up the show ring @ Singapore Expo Hall 5. Me and Eileen reached Expo at around 11am to assist in the setting up: Prepare tables, arrange chairs, put up banners provided by the sponsors, arrangement of prizes, set up padock, mark out the lanes for the Fun Event Ring, setting up PA systems, etc. By 7.20pm, we were done and went home.

We arrived at the Expo at 10.50 am with Zorg. Went over to the Singapore Toy Dog Club's Show Ring to settle some $$$ with Nicon (I was assigned to help him prepare the program booklet). By 11.50am, there is a briefing with Jacklyn (SKC Staff), John (MC), and Ricky (ASD) as there were 3 VIPs coming to be judges. They were :
1) Miss Colleen Francisca (Miss World - Singapore 2006/2007) as she adopted a dog from ASD and she was the judge for the Best Dressed Dog In National Costume.
2) Mr Darren Tan (Winner of Project Superstar II), he's got a Pomeranian and he was the judge for Waggiest Tail and Best Trick.
3) Miss Andrea Fonseka (from Deal or No Deal & Live a Dream), she's a qualified GSD judge) and she judged Champion For a Day event.

I entered Zorg Doggy Olympic Run and Best Dressed Dog In National Costume events. Eileen to run with Zorg and I dressed Zorg up for the 2nd event. The first event Doggy Olympic Run started at about 12.25pm. The owner were to run with the dog to the opposite end, pick up a pack of dog food sponsored by The Honest Kitchen and run back. So Eileen paired with Zorg, but when started to run, Zorg ran loose and thus we lose. After this, she went over to Singapore Toy Dog Club to assist them in recording their show results.
Next, there was a presentation by Mr Ricky and a short interview with Miss Colleen on adopting of dogs at ASD. Followed by the next event Best Dressed Dog In National Costume at about 1.30 pm. Ther were 17 participants and I dressed Zorg in the Red Indian Outfit and she won a 2nd prize. Miss Colleen left after the event. As I was in the event, I was not able to take photos, so I had the photogragher, Nichlos Lee, to email me. Thanks him a lot for sending the photo to me.

Then the next event was the Fastest Eater. Dog treats were placed in the plate and the dogs compete to see who emptied the plate first.
Next event was Waggiest Tail and we waited for Mr Darren Tan arrival. He showed up at about 2.30pm and proceed with the event.
The owner of the dogs were to use any ways to make the dog wag its tail. After this, there was a short interval followed by the Best Trick event. Mr Darren Tan enjoyed watching the 5 pairs of owner and dog performing their best tricks.
Lastly, we had the Champion For a Day which started at 4.00pm (1 hour behind schedule).
After a short interview with Miss Andrea, the event started with the Terrier Group, then Hound Group, Utility Group, Toy Group, Working Group, Gundog Group, Pastoral Group, followed by the Best In Show and Reserve Best In Show.
The Companion Dog Show ended at about 5.30pm and we started to pack up the area, keep the PA System etc.
Eileen left at about 7.30pm but she forgot to bring the house keys so I left at about 8.10pm.
