Soon, I was asked to follow a nurse to another room with many mobile beds. I was asked to lay on one of the beds and again, the nurse asked about: Name, Drug Allergy, Contact Lenses, Dentures, time eaten and drunk, IC No, Signature, what operation I was going to do? Then I was pushed to a parking bay which my blood pressure and the same questions were asked again. At this time, while waiting, I lay on the bed watching TV. Then a nurse came and switch off the TV, asked my name and IC No. before pushing me to the Operating Theater No. 5 and left me alone. Few minutes later, a nurse came over, asked me the whole set of questions again and briefly explained to me the procedure. Now I started to feel nervous... :(
Finally, I was pushed to the Operating Bed and again I was asked a few of those questions before they (4 nurses) hook up the wires to monitor the vital signs. Then came the Specialist (the Doctor I saw for the ENT) and an Understudy Doctor. The Specialist reassured me as I was very nervous and tensed up. Then, he started to inject Local Anesthesia and poke my nostrils one at a time with the Electrode and then told me that the surgery was completed and he left. I was transferred back to the trolley bed and sent to another parking bay, but this time, no questions asked except my name and IC no. and did a Blood Pressure and Pulse check. After that, I was pushed to the counter where I was transferred to a wheel chair. A nurse collected my documents and pushed me back to the Patient Recovery Lounge to wait till the bleeding stops and the Anesthesia effect over, about 2 hours. I was served with iced Milo and sandwiches as I was not allowed to take any hot food for 1 week. When receiving the Discharge Summary, I was surprised that I was given 6 days of Hospitalisation Leave and might need to do again in 3 weeks time and also to see the specialist again on next Monday. I collected my medication and went home.
