SMRT Challenge 31/08/2008

This was the 4th year the SMRT organised this event. This year the participants grew from initially 400 to now 1800. Consist of 3 groups: OPEN (Pink Tags), STUDENT (Blue Tags) and FAMILY (Yellow Tags). Of course, we were in the OPEN group with team number O009.

We arranged to meet at Toa Payoh Hub at 7.30am. On the way to meet my team mates, I saw this SMRT Man and took a photo of him.

By 8.30am, all the participants gathered infront of the stage for a briefing and the initial code for identifying the route to be taken. Code for Open Group : VDzu - VDz actually means EW16 - EW6 which was Outram to Kembangan. We had our team photo taken and waited for the arrival of Guest of Honour: Mr Teo Ser Luck, Senior Parliamentary Secretart, Ministry of Community Development, Youth and Sports, Ministry of Transport. Then we had speech by the Deputy CEO of SMRT and then by Mr Teo. At about 9.15am, flag off for Open Group, followed by Student group and lastly Family Group.

There were also Art Competition and Street Art Competition during the 3 to 4 hrs while we were doing the hunt and break codes. Educational game booths were also there.

My team managed to return at about 11.45am which was the 102th team to report back. Went for lunch at Mos Burger and go around shopping before returning for the prize presentation of the earlier arts competitions and the challenge at about 2pm. I left at 3pm while the presentation was still on.
