World Consumer Rights Day : Walk With Case 2008

I volunteered to be the marshal for Case for this event at Singapore River (Merchant Loop) from 7am to 11am. The guest of honour(GOH) : Mr Khaw Boon Wan, Minister For Health.

The Stage

I recieved an E-mail early this month from Mr Kenny of Case asking for helpers to be Marshal for the event. I responed. Then I was informed that there was this briefing at 6.45am this morning but I reached there at about 7.10am. I reported to Mr Kenny, but later he asked me to attached to Ms Angela. First, I was asked to do crowd control - guide those group participants from their bus to the registration counter plus collect a welcome gift ... an umbrella. At slightly after 8am, I was told to do crowd control at the mobile toilet area.

My Marshal Tag which was returned after the event

Then at 8.30am, the walk started with the flagging by the GOH. Then I had some break time for bread. About 15 minutes later, the participants starts coming in and the whole Ms Angela group stationed at the Milo Van dispensing and serving Milo.

Participants moving to the starting point

After all the Milo finished serving, we waited for the event to end with the Lucky Draw starting at 10.40am. (My Lucky Draw No : 0211) But I did not win anything. We start to clear the rubbish left by the participants. After which, we (Marshals, Volunteers, Case Staffs) enjoy the Milo that was reserve for us. After collecting my Goodie bag and umbrella, I left for home at about 11.40am.
